His eyes are as green as a fresh-pickled toad...

Courtesy of... the magic of Tumblr
His hair is as dark as a blackboard.
I wish he was mine, he's really divine,
The hero who conquered the Dark Lord.

Happy [belated] Valentine's Day from your loves at the Witching Hour, and the rest of the wizarding community, too. Here's to hoping it was more love-filled and less awkward than most.

If you're just not finished enjoying V-day, consider reading a hilarious but perceptive article about the singing valentine mystery of The Chamber of Secrets. Oh, Harry Potter Lexicon, you take these things so seriously.

On the Witching Hour, we celebrated in the usual wizard fashion, with singing cherubs and of course romantic and awkward wizard rock. So without further ado...

Finally, the Witching Hour is back! We began last week with our show "The Beginning"—unfortunately, we don't have the podcast to prove it. But in week 2, we looked at Dumbledore, Voldemort, and the relationship between these crucial characters.

As you may notice, we've switched to a 2-hour format. There's just too much good wizard rock in the world for the Witching Hour to be just one hour, dear listeners! So please enjoy our extra-long playlist:

Bet you didn't know...

Fun fact: According to J.K. Rowling's web site, Harry became head of the Auror department in the Ministry in 2007.

Here at the Witching Hour, we love thinking about what our favorite wizard and company might be up to these days... Rufus Scrimgeour was an Auror back in his day, before becoming Minister for Magic. Please, Jo, don't tell us that Harry's going to follow his lead.

A magical blessing to anyone who can tell us how old Harry turns this coming July!

New poster!

The first show premiered last Monday, celebrating the greatest wrock all about Book 1, with only a few mishaps along the way. Unfortunately the most prominent of these mishaps, it seems, was a technological problem-o with the digital file. Alas, we may not have the first one available to our podcasters. Alas! Hopefully everything will be sorted out before the next show.

In the meantime, enjoy this poster, which you will hopefully recognize....
